The types of configurations in WEBSALE V8s at a glance: .config, .dat, .cfg, .conf, and the legacy .ini configurations.
The definitions of the basic settings for a shop or subshop are made centrally in the Online Service Area (OSB) under “Configurations”. Different configuration types exist for different definitions — for example, a configuration type for commercial settings and shop messages, one for product ratings, or lists containing delivery countries.
The file names of the configurations must never be renamed! All configurations must be provided under exactly the names specified in the following sections. Otherwise, the shop cannot use the configurations.
The following sections introduce the types of configurations that can be edited in the Online Service Area. The page closes with a note about the .ini configurations from the previous version V7.
“.config” configurations are created in order to make individual settings. They serve either basic settings or feature-specific settings.

All “.config” configurations are divided into named sections delimited by start and end tags (angle brackets, as in HTML). The section names are specified by WEBSALE. Each section contains parameters and values that define functions or output texts. Here is an example of the <PaymentPrepayment-Txt> section:
<PaymentPrepayment-Txt> ... Allow = yes Name = Vorauskasse Discount = abzüglich 3 % Rabatt # Text Discount-Value = 3 # Wert BillCountry-Rule = AllowCountries # [DenyCountries|AllowCountries], standard=DenyCountries BillCountry-List = DEU, AUT, CHE # Kommaseparierte Liste der Länder im 3-stelligen ISO-Code ...</PaymentPrepayment-Txt>
Depending on the suffix, the parameters expect a specific input:
Parameters with the suffix “Allow” expect “yes” or “no” as input.
Parameters with the suffix “Value” expect a numeric input, for example “10” or “12.50” (make sure to use the period as the separator before decimal places!).
Parameters with the suffix “List” expect a comma-separated list, for example “DEU, AUT, CHE”.
Parameters with the suffix “Txt” appear as texts in the shop.
Parameters with other suffixes, or none, expect specific values that are documented in the WEBSALE online documentation for the respective parameter or section.
The purpose of these configurations is to provide entries that are later displayed in selection lists (for example, list boxes) in the shop, such as a selection list of billing countries.

Only one configuration file of this type exists: ws_access.conf. It is provided in the root directory of each shop or, if a subshop exists, in the subdirectory for that subshop. This configuration cannot be accessed via the OSB.In terms of its capabilities and syntax, this file corresponds to an .access.conf of the Apache web server and should only be adjusted with the necessary expertise.
